Unlike conventional medicine which focuses on attempting to treat disease once it occurs, Holden Beach Family Chiropractic acknowledges Chiropractic as a branch of the healing arts.  People are recognizing the benefit of seeking an alternative to traditional medicine; one that will help them to achieve and maintain optimal health.  Although Chiropractors are well versed in the spine it is sad to only look at a Chiropractor as a back pain specialist. 

 

Millions of nerves travel through-out the human body.  A properly functioning nervous system is an integral part of our survival.  The 31 pair of spinal nerves that exit the spinal cord form a complicate network which influence EVERY living tissue in the body, therefore nerves are so vital to the proper functioning of our dynamic bodies.  Mild pressure (the weight of a dime) may lead to the inability of the nerve to function properly.   Remember, nerves send messages to the entire body, including muscles.   Muscles stabilize and protect an affected area by causing symptoms like soreness, pain, stiffness and tiredness.  Unfortunately, the majority of the population is comfortable taking an analgesic for back pain and not getting to the root of the problem. Chiropractic care allows an optimally functioning nervous system to exist as well as the eradication of pain.   A person’s entire being can be improved via the detection and removal of nerve interference; the vertebral subluxation.
